New Upload Experience: Streamlined File Management and Flexible Sharing Options
We've completely redesigned the upload process to make it faster and more intuitive. You can now upload files, tag them with genre and other metadata, and choose where your tracks go (Send, Lists, Spotlight, or Link-in-Bio) all in one unified flow. The upload interface now remembers your progress, so you can refresh the page and pick up right where you left off.
Fixed crashes when uploading large audio files
We've fixed a critical issue that was causing the application to crash when uploading very large audio files. Previously, the app would become unresponsive while processing the waveform visualization for files over 50MB. Now the upload process handles large files gracefully by using a placeholder waveform instead of attempting to process the entire file in memory.
Improved reliability for shared links and downloads
We've enhanced how shared links and download activities are tracked behind the scenes. This change ensures that all interactions with shared projects and tracks—including downloads, visits, and invitations—are now reliably recorded in our updated system. This makes our platform more stable and future-proof.
Improved Tempo Detection for Uploaded Tracks
When you edit the BPM (tempo) of a track you've sent to your inbox, our system now automatically rechecks the tempo rules to ensure accuracy. We've also added a helpful 'Tempo Uncertain' badge that flags tracks with tempo issues, making it easier to spot and address any half-tempo or double-tempo problems.

Improved bulk download reliability during service issues
We've fixed a critical issue where bulk downloads would show misleading success messages even when the download service was unavailable. Now, if the service is down, you'll see a clear error message, your download dialog will stay open so you can try again, and you won't see any tracks marked as successfully downloaded when they actually failed.
Fixed playlist crashes when accessing unavailable playlists
We fixed a crash that occurred when trying to open a playlist from another workspace or a deleted playlist. Instead of showing an error screen, you'll now see a clear message explaining why the playlist isn't available, with an easy way to navigate back to your playlists.
Tracks uploaded to playlists now save correctly
Fixed an issue where tracks you uploaded through a playlist's 'Add tracks' dialog would disappear after you refreshed the page. Uploaded tracks will now reliably stay in the playlist where you added them.
Audio playback now stays available when you switch apps
When you leave a shared audio player in the background and come back to it—whether by switching apps, answering a call, or returning from another tab—the player now automatically recovers and stays ready to play. Previously, you'd need to reload the page to listen again.
New Releases Hub & Enhanced Growth Analytics
We've launched a dedicated Releases page in Growth that shows all confirmations you've signed or received, complete with KPI metrics and release history. Charts now display release markers with details, and your Network view has been completely redesigned with improved layout, connection strength metrics, and clearer visual feedback.
Fixed mobile player layout issues
We've fixed several layout problems on mobile devices when viewing the full-screen track share player. The artwork no longer gets squashed, the 'Send music' button displays correctly without underlines, and action buttons no longer overlap the player controls.
One Artist Per Release - Improved Release Management
Releases now support only one artist per contract, streamlining the release management process. This ensures contracts reach the correct artist and simplifies the workflow for managing multiple artist releases.
Release menu actions now available when deal is in progress
Fixed an issue where the 'Mark release complete' action was missing from the release menu when a deal had progressed to in-progress status (after contract countersigning). Users can now complete releases directly from the release menu at the appropriate time in the workflow.
Improved Track Management on Releases
We've improved how tracks behave when they're attached to a release. You can no longer decline a track that's already on a release directly from the track menu—instead, you'll need to remove it from the release first. This prevents tracks from being left in an inconsistent state (declined but still on a live release). We've also added clearer messaging to explain why certain actions aren't available for tracks on releases.
Improved Release Confirmation Dialog
We've improved the release confirmation experience with a dedicated dialog that makes it easier to confirm releases and send messages to artists. The dialog now clearly shows what happens when you confirm a release and allows you to add a personalized message that artists will see.
Improved Contract Field Validation and Error Messages
We've improved how contract fields are validated and what error messages you see. Contract field values are now capped at appropriate lengths, and when something goes wrong, you'll see clear, plain-language error messages instead of technical jargon. This makes it easier to understand what needs to be fixed before sending a contract.
Contract Gate for Deal Release Transitions
We've added a safety check to ensure contracts are properly executed before moving deals between release stages. Now you'll need to send and have the contract signed before you can start or complete a release, preventing incomplete deals from progressing.
Contract Step Now Promoted in Deal Header
The contract step has been promoted to appear more prominently in the deal header, making it easier to access and manage contract-related actions when working with releases. This improves the visibility and accessibility of contract workflows.
AUGUST 2026
Smarter, More Reliable File Uploads
We've improved how large files (over 50MB) are uploaded to be much more resilient. Instead of restarting the entire upload if something goes wrong, we now retry just the failed part. We've also added safeguards to detect when uploads get stuck and automatically recover, plus better error messages when files change after you select them.
Better upload error messages and improved diagnostics
When file uploads fail, you'll now see a detailed error message explaining exactly what went wrong—whether it's a connection drop, storage rejection, or network issue. We're also collecting diagnostic information behind the scenes to help us troubleshoot upload problems faster without needing you to share screenshots or browser logs.
Improved upload tracking with persistent upload tray and better error visibility
Uploads now show real-time progress in a dedicated tray at the bottom right of your screen, with clear visibility into each phase: uploading to our servers, processing on the backend, and ready to use. If an upload stalls, you'll see a clear error message and can retry immediately. The tray automatically collapses when uploads finish.
Fixed stuck uploads and improved upload failure visibility
We've fixed an issue where failed file uploads would get stuck showing a spinning "Processing" indicator forever. Now when an upload fails, we automatically clean it up so you can try uploading the file again, and if an upload stalls for more than 30 minutes, we'll show you a clear "Upload failed" message instead of continuing to spin.
New track completion step: Set a starting point
We've added a new step to the track completion checklist that encourages you to set a starting point for your tracks. When you set a starting point, playback will begin at that moment instead of from the very beginning. This gives you more control over how your tracks are presented to listeners.
Local Audio Library: Download and Play Tracks Offline
Your Inbox desktop app can now automatically download and store audio tracks locally on your computer. This means you can listen to your synced tracks even when you're offline, and playback is faster since files are stored right on your device. You control what gets synced and how much disk space it uses through the settings.
Improved Release Management Interface and Performance Refinements
We've reorganized how release information is displayed in the deal management system, making it easier to access contract and asset details. We've also made several interface improvements including better visual distinction for selected tabs and more consistent time formatting across release lists.
Improved waveform visualization on shared tracks
We've improved how waveforms display on shared track pages. Quiet sections in songs are now more visible and easier to see, the waveform stays crisp when moving between different monitor types, and the overall visualization better represents the actual dynamics of the audio.
Improved waveform display with better audio visualization
We've rebuilt the waveform display that appears alongside your tracks with improved audio visualization and performance. The waveforms now display audio dynamics more accurately, render more smoothly, and properly adjust when you collapse the sidebar or resize your window.
Release Link Publishing Now Logged in Deal Activity Feed
When a label publishes a release smart-link page, this action is now recorded in the deal's activity thread alongside other milestones like contract signing. Additionally, unpublished release pages now go offline immediately and reliably, rather than depending on a cache that could sometimes fail to clear.
WAV downloads now include artist, title, and cover art
WAV files downloaded from your library now embed metadata (artist name, track title, and cover art) directly into the audio file. This means your DJ software and hardware will automatically recognize and display this information when you load the tracks, instead of just showing the filename. This applies to over 80% of downloads.
Released tracks no longer remain accessible after unpublishing
When you unpublish a release, the public link now becomes inaccessible immediately instead of remaining live for up to 60 seconds. Additionally, we've improved the messaging on unavailable release pages to avoid confusion about why a link isn't working.
Contract remains accessible after deal completion
Previously, when a deal was marked as complete, the contract would disappear from view even though it's an important record of what was agreed. Now the contract stays visible and accessible after completion, though it can no longer be edited or actioned since the deal is closed.
Countersigned tracks now stay visible in the Releases list
Tracks that had their contracts countersigned were disappearing from the Releases tab and Saved list on the label side. This fix ensures that once a deal moves to 'in progress' after countersigning, those tracks remain visible in the correct sections of the app.
AI Track Detection powered by Modulate
We've integrated Modulate's advanced AI detection technology to help identify AI-generated audio in uploaded tracks. This new capability provides detailed analysis of vocal and instrumental content, confidence scores, and a comprehensive review interface for moderators to assess potentially AI-generated submissions.
Smarter track naming and larger cover art for uploads
When uploading tracks, you'll now see suggested naming pills that help you format your track title correctly based on your inbox and version type (Original Mix, Remix, etc.). The upload cover art is also now larger and more prominent. Everything remains fully editable — these are helpful suggestions, not restrictions.
Smarter track naming suggestions and larger cover art in uploads
We've made uploading tracks easier with two key improvements: the upload card now suggests how to format your track title using your inbox name and version markers (like 'Original Mix' or 'Remix'), and the cover art display is now much larger so you can see your artwork clearly during upload. The settings also now show exactly how your files will be credited.
Customize how your inbox is credited in downloaded files
You can now set a custom artist name that will be used to credit your inbox in downloaded track files and embedded metadata. This is useful if your inbox name differs from how you want to be credited artistically—such as different casing, disambiguators like "(UK)", or when your inbox represents a label but you want to credit the actual artist. If you don't set a custom name, your inbox name will be used as before.
Track titles now stay saved when edited during upload
Fixed an issue where renaming a track while it was uploading would be lost. Previously, if you edited the track title while the progress bar was filling, the change would appear on your screen but wouldn't actually be saved—the original filename would show up in your library instead. Now your edits are properly saved, whether you make them during or after the upload completes.
Fixed download reliability and accuracy issues
We've fixed several issues that were causing downloads to fail silently, report success when they actually failed, or deliver the wrong file format. Downloads are now more reliable and will give you accurate feedback when something goes wrong.
Improved automatic track advancement in playlists
We've fixed how the player automatically advances to the next track when one finishes playing. The player now more reliably skips to the next song in your playlist, and single-track queues will properly stop at the end instead of replaying the same track over and over.
Manage offline sync settings directly from the sidebar
The offline tracks card in your sidebar now expands to show which inboxes keep their pending tracks cached on your device. You can toggle inbox sync settings without opening the full track-cache settings sheet, and your choices stay synchronized across both locations.
Smarter playlist sharing with one-time profile collection and better download tracking
When you share a playlist with profile collection enabled, visitors now only need to provide their information once—not every time they download. We've also improved how we capture and track who's downloading your music, creating actual contact records that appear in your workspace so you know exactly who's enjoying your tracks.
Easier playlist management with visible Add Tracks button and fixed track artwork
We've made it easier to add tracks to your playlists by moving the 'Add Tracks' button out of the overflow menu and into the main playlist header—it's now a primary action on both desktop and mobile. We've also fixed an issue where track artwork wasn't displaying in the track picker, so you'll now see album art for every track when selecting what to add.
Improved reliability for project downloads
We fixed a critical issue where download notifications could cause project downloads to fail unexpectedly. Now, even if something goes wrong with the notification system, your download will still complete successfully. This ensures you can always retrieve your files without interruption.
Improved Playlist Upload Experience with Visual Enhancements
We've enhanced the playlist upload and sharing experience with better visual design and improved workflow. When uploading tracks to playlists, you'll now see a clearer interface that pre-selects playlists you're currently viewing, and the playlist player now features dynamic artwork backdrops that create a more polished appearance.
Improved Playlist Name Input Visibility in Dark Mode
We've fixed an issue where playlist name input fields were difficult to read when using dark mode. The text input now uses our standard input component, which properly supports dark mode styling and ensures the playlist name is always visible and easy to read.
Contract Status Now Visible on Release Rows
We've added contract status badges directly to your Releases list, so you can see at a glance which deals are waiting for signatures without opening each one. Labels can now filter releases by contract state to quickly find what needs attention.
Cleaner Browser Console During Track Uploads
We've removed debug messages that were appearing in your browser console every time you uploaded tracks. These messages contained technical details like file names and track IDs that weren't meant for users. Your uploads will work exactly the same way—this is just cleanup to keep your console clean and your data more private.
Fixed: Existing playlists are now selectable during track uploads
We've fixed an issue that prevented users from selecting existing playlists when uploading tracks. The playlist selector now works properly and stays open while you select multiple playlists, making it easier to assign tracks to your existing projects.
Improved Playlist Download Reliability and Performance
We've fixed a critical issue with playlist downloads that was causing the system to run out of memory when downloading large playlists. Downloads now stream files one at a time instead of loading everything into memory at once, making the service more stable and reliable.
Fixed bulk playlist downloads now working reliably
We've resolved an issue that was preventing bulk playlist downloads from completing successfully. Previously, the download feature would fail and report all tracks as unavailable, even though individual track downloads worked fine. This has now been fixed and downloads should work smoothly.
Fixed playlist downloads to never silently drop tracks
When downloading a playlist as a ZIP file, tracks are no longer silently dropped if the total size exceeds the limit. Instead, you'll see a clear message before the download starts explaining what's happening and how to split the download into smaller batches. Any tracks that can't be included will be listed inside the ZIP file so you know exactly what's missing.
